FAQ
Do you repair watches?
No apart from Pocket watches.
Can I ‘overwind’ my clock?
No, this is a misconception, it is physically imposible to overwind the clock by hand. If a clock cannot be wound and it is not working, it probably just needs a service.
If I require my clock repaired what should I do?
Please phone or email before despatching.
How do I pack my clock?
Please refer to the packaging guide, unless it is a grandfather clock which can be collected for repairs and servicing.
Can you tell me how to fix my clock?
Only if it is a pendulum clock and has been moved recently, in which case the clock could be out of beat.
Clocks that have stopped usually require some form of work to be undertaken by a professional.
How is the clock cleaned?
Only traditional methods are used, I do not use ultrasonics on antique movements as I believe that this method can be damaging to the brass of that era.
Is there any Guarantee on the work carried out?
Yes there is a one year Guarantee on all work carried out as invoiced.
Why is there not an address or land line phone number advertised?
The only reason is security of both my home (where the work is done) and any customer’s clock contained therein.
